5 Days Tour in Jordan

5 Day Classic Tour

Amman - Jebel Al Qala'a - Madaba - Greek Orthodox Church of St. George – Mount Nebo - Dead Sea – King's Way Petra – Siq Al Barid (Little Petra) – Al Beidha - Wadi Rum

Day 1

Queen Alia International Airport or Borders - Amman - Jebel Al Qala'a - Madaba - Greek Orthodox Church of St. George – Mount Nebo - Dead Sea

Welcome to Jordan!

You will be met on arrival then we will drive to the heart of downtown Amman to visit Jebel Al Qala'a, which is a Citadel comprising a patchwork of Roman, Byzantine, and Islamic remains which overlooks a large Roman Theatre.

This theatre, built in 2 A.D., once seated 5,000 spectators and is the most impressive legacy of Roman Amman.

It is a short drive of 30 minutes from Amman to reach Madaba, the city of mosaics, where we will visit the 6th Century mosaic map of the Holy Land housed in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George and comprising two million pieces of stone.

We will continue to Mount Nebo to the place from which Prophet Moses viewed the Holy Land, having led his people from Sinai. It is said that he also died and was buried here.

The West Bank City of Jericho is usually visible from the summit of Mount Nebo, as is Jerusalem on a very clear day.

We will reach our hotel at the Dead Sea in time for dinner

Day 2

Dead Sea – King's Way – Petra

After breakfast at our hotel we will have some time to enjoy the Dead Sea.

The Dead Sea is located at the lowest spot on earth, some 400 meters below sea level and provides an unforgettable swimming experience as, due to the high-density of the water, it is virtually impossible to sink!

We will spend a relaxing few hours floating in the mineral-rich water and perhaps enjoying one of the famous, therapeutic black mud massages.

After lunch, we travel along the scenic King's Way to Petra.

We will reach our hotel in Petra in time for dinner and overnight

Day 3

Petra – Siq Al Barid (Little Petra) – Al Beidha - Wadi Rum

Petra is a treasure of the ancient world and definitely a highlight of any trip to Jordan.

It is hidden behind an almost impenetrable barrier of rugged mountains and boasts incomparable scenes making it perhaps the most majestic and imposing ancient site still standing today.

It is the legacy of the Nabataeans, an industrious Arab people who settled in southern Jordan more than 2,000 years ago and who carved their new capital out of the rose-red Sharah Mountains.

The site contains refined culture, massive architecture and an ingenious complex of dams and water channels.

For our first hours in Petra we will have an English speaking guide who will show us round the numerous highlights including the Treasury (El Khazneh) which has an intricately carved façade that glows in the sun, the amphitheatre, and the Royal Tombs.

For the remainder of the day you will be able to wander at your leisure one monument leading to the next for kilometer after kilometer.

The sheer size of the city and quality of the beautifully carved facades at Petra is staggering, almost overwhelming and there are over 800 individual monuments in total, including buildings, tombs, baths, funerary halls, temples, gateways, and colonnaded streets to admire, mostly carved from the kaleidoscopic sandstone by the technical and artistic genius of its inhabitants.

Upon leaving Petra we will drive to Wadi Rum and camp with local Bedouin in a deluxe campsite and eat the traditional, freshly prepared, Jordanian food provided by our genial hosts

Day 4

Wadi Rum – Amman

After a sustaining buffet breakfast we enjoy a Jeep Safari amongst Wadi Rum's enchanting pink and white desert sands.

Travel in Wadi Rum is a journey to another world, where one can escape the worries of everyday life and return to nature and the simple life.

In this immense space, man is dwarfed into insignificance.

Vast, silent and timeless, Wadi Rum possesses one of the most beautiful deserts capes in the world. Rock carvings mark the passage of ancient tribes in pre-history.

Thamudic inscriptions, burial mounds, ancient megaliths, ruined buildings abound, Nabataean rock carved stairways, dams, and temples can still be found throughout the area.

Wadi Rum is perhaps best known because of its connection with Lawrence of Arabia and we follow in the enigmatic British officer's footsteps as we drive through the surreal moonscape.

Late afternoon we will drive to a hotel in Amman in time for dinner and spend the night in Amman.

Day 5

Amman – Airport

We enjoy one last breakfast and then check out of our hotel.

Depending on flight times you may have the morning free to enjoy Jordan's capital city Amman.

Then we will transfer to airport in good time for your departure from Jordan.
